Overview of the GEM Brazil Boat Trip

The Global Encouragers Ministries (GEM) recently completed an impactful boat trip project in Brazil, spanning from September 7 to September 18, 2023. This initiative focused on evangelism and health outreach in various river communities, resulting in significant engagement and positive outcomes.

Evangelism Results

During the trip, a total of 363 individuals were engaged in spiritual discussions, with 123 accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior. Additionally, 21 individuals did not accept Christ, while 219 identified as already being Christians. The results highlight the commitment of GEM to spread the message of faith in these communities.

Health Outreach and Clinics

The health outreach program included clinics held over four days at different locations along the river. A remarkable 186 adults and 115 children received care. The clinics provided a variety of services, including eye examinations and haircuts, showing the multifaceted approach GEM took to improve quality of life. Specifically, 189 pairs of glasses were distributed, along with 74 haircuts, showcasing the practical support offered alongside spiritual guidance.

Furthermore, 169 individuals expressed interest in ongoing Bible studies, with 117 new converts and 52 already established Christians eager to enhance their spiritual journey. All of these efforts emphasize GEM’s dedication to serving both the spiritual and physical needs of the communities along the river.
